People tend to trust recommendations from friends or family, making referrals highly effective.

Here's how you can set up a referral program in Punchpass and incentivize current customers to share your business.

How a Referral Program in Punchpass Can Work

In Punchpass, each customer profile allows you to enter a referral source. Here are a few options for collecting customer referral information!

Option 1: Create an Intake Form

Our Redwood plan offers access to our Custom Forms feature. This would allow you to create an intake form that new customers complete, and ask students to indicate any referrals at the time of sign up.

If you'd like to upgrade to Redwood, we'd be happy to offer you a free trial of the plan at no additional cost.

Option 2: Direct Customers to Add a Referral Source

After a customer creates an account, you can automatically guide them to complete their full account profile using the Welcome Email Automation.

You'll then track the results using the New Customers Report (see below for more information).

How Customers Add a Referral Source to Their Profiles

  1. In your message template, guide students to visit their profile and add any information you'd like them to share, including the referral source.

Students can use this link to directly access the My Profile section when signed into their accounts: https://[yourbusiness].punchpass.com/member/account

  2. And customers will add their referral source:

Option 3: Manually Enter Information into a Customer Account

From the customer account, click the Info tab, and press the Edit Info button; and you can manually enter this information for them.

Tracking Referrals with the New Customers Report

You'll be able to review your new customers and their referrals, you'll find a report with all of your new customers listed in the New Customers Report (Customers > Active Customers > Filters).

Tip: The New Customers Report can be found by clicking Customers > Active Customers. From the Active Customers list, click on the Filters dropdown and select New Customers.

You might consider setting up an email template, if you'd like to target or message clients from this report!

Rewarding Your Customers

When the time comes to credit the customer, you can then create a discount code for them to use or you can assign them a free pass.

Here are some of our guides around those reward options:
