Many studios want to give students the flexibility to join class in person or online. While Punchpass doesn't have a dedicated "hybrid" class format, you can offer this experience by setting up two versions of the same class: one for in-studio attendance and one for online attendance.

Here’s how to set that up step by step.

Setting up a Hybrid Class in Punchpass

Step 1: Create the Classes

First, go to Manage > Classes and create two versions of your class:

  • One for in-studio

  • One for online

We recommend including “In-Studio” or “Online” in the class name to make it clear to students.

Tip: If your in-studio classes have limited spots, you can enable a waitlist.

For the online version of the class, you'll create a class just like the in-person classes, but when setting up the timetable, you'll want to make sure to edit the classes to make them an "online" class. Here's our guide to creating a new class

Step 2: Add Both Versions to Your Timetable

Once the classes are created, schedule them at the same time and on the same days. You’ll essentially be running two separate classes that happen at the same time.

Step 3. Preview Your Public Schedule

Once both classes are live, your public schedule will show two booking options for students. They’ll be able to choose the version that works best for them.

Students can easily pick the version of the class that they'd like to book and the rest of the reservation process works just like it does for any other class.

Optional: Offer a Class Recording

If you'd like to provide a recording of the live class for students to access afterward, take a look at our Content Library, especially the Class Content feature.

You can also share the recording with students who attended in person.

Other Tips and Considerations

  • Pass Eligibility: You can control which passes are eligible for each version of the class. This is useful if you want different pricing for in-person and online options.
    Set pass eligibility.

  • Attendance: Be sure to take attendance for both the in-studio and online class sessions.

  • Time Zones: Online classes display times relative to GMT. If that format might confuse your students, consider adding a short note at the top of your schedule to explain.
