Once you have added content to different collections, you can set your passes or memberships to get access to certain content.

Here is a quick demo:

Creating a pass with access to the Content Library

If your plan supports access to the Content Library, then you can add access to content collections to any of your passes or memberships.

When creating a new pass or membership with access to Content Library there are a few things to keep in mind.

Recommended settings for content passes

  • Time-based vs never expires. When customers have access to the content library, they will have access to the content for as long as their pass or membership is active. Viewing content doesn't deduct any class credits, so you'll want to consider making each pass or membership valid for a defined set of time.

  • Set passes to become active when assigned. If you're offering a pass with access to ONLY content library collections, we recommend when defining your pass to set the pass as active for attendance when it's assigned. This prevents customers from having a pass that never becomes active.

Add access to content collections to a pass or membership

Connecting a content collection to a pass is quick and easy!

With this option, you can create passes and memberships that allow customers to register for classes and access supplemental materials in the Content Library.

After the offer is created (or if you're modifying an existing offer), from Manage > Passes, select the pass or membership and this opens the offer details page.

At the top of the page, click the Content Collections button, select the collections you want to allow access to with this pass/membership and press Save.

Now, customers with specific passes and memberships can log in and get access to those content collections!

Creating a "Content Library-Only" Pass or Membership

Here's how to set up an offer that's valid ONLY for accessing content collections:

Let's go through this step-by-step, starting with an example of creating a pass and followed by an example of creating a membership.

Defining a Content-Only Pass

We'll start by selecting the settings.

  1. Type of Pass: Punchcard or Unlimited. Your choice! When viewing content, credits are not deducted from the pass. If a customer should be able to book classes, you'll want those thoughts to guide your decision.

  2. How long is the pass good for? Pick a date. With a time-based option, someone will have access to the content for a defined period of time.

  3. Calculating the expiration date: Immediately when assigned. This prevents the customer from purchasing a pass that never becomes active.

  4. Eligible Classes: Clear all. With a content-only pass, we don't want someone to use this for classes, so we'll remove access to making any class reservations by limiting the classes.

Defining a Content-Only Membership

We'll start by selecting the settings.

  1. Enter the details about how much and how often the customer should pay. More information on setting up memberships in Punchpass here.

  2. Type of Pass: Punchcard or Unlimited. Your choice! When viewing content, credits are not deducted from the pass. If a customer should be able to book classes, you'll want those thoughts to guide your decision.

  3. Eligible Classes: Clear all. With a content-only pass, we don't want someone to use this for classes, so we'll remove access to making any class reservations by limiting the classes.

Select the Online Sales Settings (same for both passes and memberships):

  1. Sell Online in Punchpass. Turn this setting on if you'd like the pass to appear on the Purchase a Pass page.

  2. Who can view the pass? Select All Customers if you'd like everyone to be able to see this pass and Logged In customers only if you'd like everyone to sign into their customer account.

  3. Who can purchase the pass? Logged In customers only. When your content is set to be visible to people with an eligible pass or class registration, they'll need to sign in to view the content. We recommend setting this option to logged in so the experience is seamless.

Add access to the content collections

After defining your pass or membership, it's now time to add the content collections to the offer.

From Manage > Passes, select the pass to open the details page. You'll press the Content Collections button to add the collections (detailed above).

Please double-check that your eligible class settings and remove any or all classes as appropriate to your offer.

Purchasing a pass or membership with Content Library access

After purchasing a pass or membership with Content Library access, those customers who are logged-in will see the content linked to their pass in the Content Library section of their accounts when their pass becomes active.

If you created a pass or membership with the above settings, that means your customers will see the linked material in their Content Library as soon as their pass becomes active.

For Content Library-Only passes and memberships, after successfully completing the purchase, customers will see a link to view the material on the purchase a pass page as well as in their Content Library.

Please note: If you have the attached content to directly class, this is something slightly different and please see this guide for the customer experience.

How your customers will access content in the Content Library

Here's an overview on how customers access the library.

When a pass or membership is connected to a pass, a customer with that active pass or membership will be able to log into their account, select the Content Library link in the navigation, and see the content within that collection.
