When you are creating your passes, you may wish to offer a special or discounted pass that is only available for a one-time online purchase per customer, only available to a first-time customers, or limit the number of total sales!

Limiting Pass Sales to One per Customer

In the Online Sales Settings, select the Limit One Per Customer setting under Sales Settings:

Limiting Pass Sales to New Customers Only

In the Online Sales Settings, you can also select "Limit to new customers only" to restrict pass sales. A new customer is someone purchasing their first pass with your business, someone who hasn't purchased any passes with your business before.

Limit the Total Number of Passes Sold

And in the Online Sales Settings, you can also limit the number of sales!

Punchpass will automatically turn off online sales for an offering when a certain number of passes has been sold, very handy for limited-time discounts or seasonal offerings:

Once an offering has sold out, Punchpass sends an email to the business, alerting them that the offer has sold out.

Admin users can continue to assign a pass, even if it is sold out.

The Customer Experience of Pass Purchase Limits

Limit One Purchase Per Customer

If the customer purchases the pass once and attempts to purchase the pass again, they will receive this notification:

The setting to limit purchases to one per customer doesn't prevent Admin and Restricted-level Admin users from assigning the pass multiple times to a customer if they wish.

Limiting the Total Number of Passes Sold

Once the limit is reached, we show a notice that the pass has sold out to customers. This message will appear when they click on the pass on the Purchase a Pass page as well as if they follow a paylink.
