Your Purchase a Pass page is where customers browse and buy your passes, memberships, and gift cards. With Purchase Catalogs, you have flexible options for organizing how these offers appear to make shopping easier and more intuitive for your customers.

Whether you want the system to automatically sort your offers into defualt categories (Passes, Memberships, Gift Cards) or you prefer to create your own custom collections, you can tailor the page to fit how you run your business and how your customers think about your programs.

Before You Get Started

This guide assumes you're already selling online with Stripe or Square. If you're not using these payment integrations but still want to display your Purchase a Pass page with payment links, check out our guide on Using the Purchase a Pass Page Without Stripe.

If you are using Stripe or Square, your Purchase a Pass page is automatically visible when you connect these integrations and set passes for sale online. You can find your page at: https://[yourstudio].punchpass.com/passes

If you're new to Punchpass, we recommend creating a few passes, memberships, and gift cards for sale in advance.

With Purchase Catalogs, you're always welcome to update and change the arrangement of your Purchase a Pass as your promotional needs change!

Your Organization Options

Purchase Catalogs give you three ways to organize your Purchase a Pass page. Each serves different needs depending on how you want to present your offers.

Keep it simple with a list. If you'd all of your offers displayed in one list in your chosen order, perfect. Nothing needs to change. This is how your Purchase a Pass page will automatically be displayed.

Let the system organize automatically. The automatic categorization option sorts your offers into three categories: Passes, Memberships, and Gift Cards. This works well when you want straightforward organization and the ability to send customers directly to specific offer category pages, which is especially helpful during promotional campaigns.

Create your own custom categories. Manual categories give you complete creative control. Use them to group offers by program type, skill level, or seasonal collections. This option is perfect when you want to spotlight specific deals or organize offers in a way that reflects how your business actually operates.

Displaying Your Preferred Catalog on the Purchase a Pass Page

You'll follow the steps below to customize your Purchase a Pass page. Once created, you can switch between the different options at any time by making your preference from the Purchase Catalog Type options (detailed below).

Confirm Your Purchase a Pass Page is Visible

At the top of the Purchase Catalog page, you'll see the Make my purchase pass page visible online checkbox. This controls whether your Purchase a Pass page is publicly accessible and is selected by default if you're using Stripe or Square.

Make sure your Purchase a Pass page is visible

Add a Page Description

Just below the checkbox is the Catalog Description field. This text appears at the top of your public Purchase a Pass page, above all your offers. It's a great spot to include instructions or any information you'd like customers to see before they start browsing-- think of it as a welcome message or quick guide to your offerings.

Choosing How to Organize Your Offers

How would you like your offers to appear on the Purchase a Pass Page? We walk you through the different options and setup below.

Option 1: List of Everything Available to Purchase

This keeps the familiar Punchpass experience where all your offers appear in a single list in the order you choose in Manage > Passes. If this works for you, you don't need to change anything!

Creating a List View of Your Offers

Scroll down to the Purchase Catalog Type section, select A list of everything... and press Save to update the layout of the Purchase a Pass page.

Review Your Purchase a Pass Page

Refresh your Purchase a Pass page and you'll see everything organized into a list.

Option 2: Automatically Categorize

Automatic categorization organizes your offers into three default categories: Passes, Memberships, and Gift Cards. Note that you cannot combine automatic and custom manual categories, if you need more than these 3 options, continue to Option 3: Manually Categorize.

An advantage with the Automatic option is that each category gets its own page with a unique URL, so you can share direct links with customers. Running a membership promotion? Send them straight to your Memberships page. Promoting gift cards for the holidays? Link directly to that category.

Setting Up Automatic Categories

Scroll down to the Purchase Catalog Type section, select Automatically Categorize and press Save to update the layout of the Purchase a Pass page.

To create automatic categories on your Purchase a Pass page, select the option to automatically categorize your offers.

Next, under Automatic Categorize, click the Customize Automatic Category Descriptions button.

Press the Customize Automatic Category Descriptions button to customize these pages.

You'll land on a page where you can add custom descriptions for each of the three categories of offers: Passes, Memberships, and Gift Cards. These descriptions appear at the top of each category page, so you can provide specific context or instructions relevant to that type of offer.

For example, you might explain your membership benefits on the Memberships page or describe gift card options on the Gift Cards page.

Add a message that makes sense for each category, then press Save.

  • Memberships for sale: [yourstudio].punchpass.com/catalogs/memberships

  • Gift Cards for sale: [yourstudio].punchpass.com/catalogs/gift_cards

Option 3: Manually Categorize

This option gives you the most flexibility to organize offers in ways that make sense for your specific business and programs. Manual categories let you create your own custom groupings to feature certain offers and link to a list of all of your existing offers!

Creating Your Custom Categories

With Manual Categories, you'll create your categories first and then set them live by updating the Purchase Catalog Type setting. Note that this option cannot be combined with the Automatic option, so you will need to create manual Passes, Memberships, and Gift Card categories if you want to offer those!

Under Manual Categories, click the Customize Manual Categories button.

Create Your Custom Categories

You can create as many manual categories as you need by repeating this process!

Click Add New Category to create your first one.

For each category you create, you'll

  • Create a category title. Something like "Beginner Programs," "Group Lessons," or "Winter Workshops",

  • Add a description that explains what's included (optional)

  • Set the visibility for this category. You have the flexibility to share them with everyone, make a category visible only to logged-in customers (which requires them to have an account), or keep them in draft mode so customers don't see them yet

  • Add the offers. After setting visibility, scroll down to select which passes, memberships, or gift cards belong in this category.

  • Once you've made your selections, press Save.

Note: You can add as many offers as you want to each category, and the same offer can appear in multiple categories if that makes sense.

Here's a demo showing how to create your custom, manual categories, step-by-step!

Set Your Manual Categories Live

Ready to go live with your new categories? Make sure they are no longer in draft mode and from the Purchase Catalog Type section, select the manually categorize option and press Save.

Select the manually categorize button when things are ready to go live with your manual categories.

Sharing Your Custom Categories

Refresh your Purchase a Pass page to see your custom categories in action. This is a great way to highlight specific promotions or featured programs while still giving customers access to everything you offer.

Here's what that landing page for the offers looks like:

Managing Your Categories

You can edit and delete a manual category anytime from the Manual Catalog Categories page. This page is accessed by clicking on the Customize Manual Categories button on the Purchase Catalog page.

Note: Don't worry, deleting a category only removes that organizational grouping. Your actual passes, memberships, and gift cards remain untouched and available. It simply changes how they're displayed to customers.
